Nature's Poem Suite- Part II in 3-D

As part of my INSPIRATION STATION at my local leadership event, I was excited to design some 3-D projects.  After all, I love making boxes and I'm always looking for cute little 3-D projects to make.  The NATURE'S POEM SUITE made it easy to be creative.  Here are some of my samples.

Of course, I started with boxes.  The gorgeous box is 7 1/2 in by 7 1/2 in by 2 1/2 in.  It's a great box for gift giving and can hold a lot of stuff.  Below is the link to a Stampin Up video explaining how to make this and many other size boxes.

This box is easily my favorite.  I love how it looks.  The box is a 4 in. cube with a reinforced lid.  It sounds really difficult but it really isn't.

EARLY ESPRESSO cardstock base at 12 x 12″. Score on ALL sides at 4″. For the DSP lid, start with a 12 x 12″ sheet.  Before scoring each side, slide the DSP about 1/16th of an inch to the right then score on ALL sides at 1.5 AND 4″  This will make sure you get a snug fit rather than a too tight lid.

I was inspired by Ronda Wade during one of her weekly FB LIVE broadcasts for this project.  A gift bag with a coordinating card that attaches to the bag is so unique and ingenious.  The project uses two pieces of DSP and a few pieces of coordinating card stock.  Using your STAMPIN SCORE BOARD, take one of the pieces of DSP and score it on all four sides. On the side that will be the top of the bag, score at 1 in.  Score all three other sides at 3 in.  Cut the second piece of DSP down to 8 in by 12 in.  Holding it in the portrait position score the side at the bottom at 3 in.  Score the other three sides at 1 in.  Crease all the score lines using a BONE FOLDER. Then using TEAR N TAPE adhesive, turn down the top 1 in panel and adhere it to the bag.  Now put TEAR N TAPE on the two remaining 1 in flap and put together the sides of the bag.  Place the bag upside down and using TEAR N TAPE close up the bottom of the box.  To make the piece that the card hangs from, cut a piece of coordinating card stock at 5 1/2 in by 2 1/4 in.  Using the WINDOW PUNCH, make a slot on either side of the strip.  Adhere this piece using TEAR N TAPE at the top of the bag, just under the place where the DSP is folded over.  Use a piece of the remaining DSP for the card front and adhere it to a BLACKBERRY BLISS card base.  Dress up your card however you wish.  I used NATURE'S TWINE in BLACKBERRY BLISS for the gift bag's handle.  I LOVE IT!!

I made my first SAMPLER last summer at a KIDS SUMMER CRAFT CAMP I was helping with.  It was so much fun and was such a big WOW I decided to try it with this suite.  This sampler fits in an 8 in by 8 in frame.  What's fun about a sampler is that you can decide on the size of the blocks that you would like.  This suite has such amazing DSP, stamps and framelits that its so easy to pull it together. I used WATERCOLOR PAPER to give it more texture.  I love how it turned out.  A great gift for a friend.

Who doesn't love a cute TO DO LIST with a coordinating pen?  I made this using a 4 in by 5 1/2 in piece of cardboard and covering it with the NATURE'S POEM DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.  I found this cute little TO DO cards on AMAZON, and stamped them with the leaf image in TRANQUIL TIDE.  I covered a 1 1/2 in  binder clip with DSP and slide a 1 in by 3 1/4 in piece of DSP down the barrel of an RSVP pen.  Finish the set off with some NATURE'S TWINE in CRUMB CAKE and MINT MACARON.

Can't make a group of projects without including one with candy.  Hershey nuggets are a favorite for everyone.  I made this nugget box using one of Stampin' Up's ACETATE BOXES.  First, I cut the box in half using the STAMPIN TRIMMER.  After putting the half box together, a cut nine 1 in by 3 in strips and adhered them to the nuggets using GLUE DOTS.  Before putting the candy in, I cut a coordinating piece of DSP at just under 4 in by 5 in.  Score on the long side at 1 1/2 in and 2 in.  Crease the lines and carefully slide the long end into the box.  The rest of the DSP folds over and becomes the flap.  Put the candy in and close the flap.  I used some of NATURE'S TWINE to close the box and decorated as shown above.

For my last project, I made these SPROUT Pencil holder for my MAY Customer Gifts. These were such fun to make.  I can't wait to give them away.  The SPROUT Pencils are neat because you can plant them after you are finished using them and they will grow a variety of herbs in your garden.  I used an 11 in by 2 in piece of SOFT SUEDE card stock.  I scored it on the long side at 3 in and 3 1/2 in.  I took by 1 in CIRCLE PUNCH and punched a how in the end closer to the score lines.  I put DSP on the inside of the long rectangle and on the outside of the small rectangle.  I then repunched the hole to remove the DSP.  I folded the strip up and adhered the bottom of the strip using DIMENSIONALS.  I slid the two SPROUT Pencils in and tied them securely using the NATURE'S TWINE.  The tag used the JUST FOR YOU sentiment stamped on a 1 3/8 in circle.

I had so much fun creating these projects for my INSPIRATION STATION.  I will be setting it up at the leadership event this weekend.  Come back to my blog and see how the display looks.
