Use up your DSP- Make this GIFT BAG with COORDINATING CARD with just 2 pieces of 12 by 12 DSP

Just days before the launch of the new Annual Catalog.  I know you are like me and you have your eyes on all that amazing designer series paper.  But then I look in my stash and say to myself, "What do I do with all the paper I have already?"  "How do I make room for the new stuff?"  I've got a solution for you.  The original design of this bag is by Ronda Wade, an amazing Stampin' Up demo.  Not only does it make a large gift bag and coordinating card with just two pieces of 12 by 12 DSP, it will also save you trips to the store for gift bags when special occasions pop up all year.  Make a bunch, save them and pull them out-- YOU'RE READY FOR ANY OCCASION.

Choose two matching piece of 12in by 12in designer series.  Cut one of the sheets to 8in by 12in. If you have directional paper, the 8in side should be the top and bottom.  Next, score the 12in by 12in paper at 3in on three sides and 1in on the top side.  For the 8in by 12in piece, score at 1in on three sides and at 3in on the bottom.

On the 12in by 12in piece, fold and crease all score lines.  Fold over the 1in side to show the back of the DSP and adhere that down with TOMBOW.  On the bottom of the DSP, cut the flaps apart to create the bottom panels.

On the 8in by 12in piece, fold and crease on all the score lines.  Fold over the 1in side to show the back of the DSP and adhere that down with TOMBOW.  On the bottom, cut away the tiny rectangles to create a bottom flap.  Apply glue to the bottom flaps of the larger piece to create the bottom of the bag. Then apply glue to the skinny panels and the bottom panel of the smaller piece, slide both pieces together and secure the glued tabs.

Using a 1/8th inch circle punch, punch holes in the small sides of the bag on the 1in panel.  Grab some coordinating ribbon from your stash and tie to make the handle.  For the card holder on the front of the bag, take a coordinating piece of card stock cut at 5-1/2in by 2-1/4in.  Using the WORD WINDOW PUNCH or any punch or die that creates a long thin opening, cut across the top of the panel, leaving about 1/4in at each end.  Adhere to the front of the bag just under the 1in panel, applying glue to the edge closest to the card slit.

For the card, use the remaining piece of DSP, measuring 4in by 12in.  Cut off 1-1/2in and then score the remaining piece at 5-1/4in.  Fold and layer this piece on top of a coordinating piece of card stock measuring 5-1/2in by 4-1/4in.  Cut a piece of BASIC WHITE card stock at 5in by 3-3/4in and adhere that inside the card for your sentiment.

To embellish the front of the card, take a piece of coordinating card stock cut at 4in by 1-3/4in and adhere that about 3/4in from the bottom of the card.  Stamp a sentiment on a 2in circle, layer that on a coordinating scallop and place that on the front of the card as shown using DIMENSIONALS.
