A REUSABLE NOTE PAD COVER featuring the SWEET SONGBIRDS BUNDLE

Here's a great gift for all those friends who are list makers and note takers.  This reusable NOTE PAD COVER allows you to replace the note pad when all the pages have been used.  So fun and easy.

I used the SWEET SONGBIRDS BUNDLE and the INCOLOR 6x6 DSP but you can use any bundle and DSP for this project.

Start with an 8-1/2in by 11in piece of STARRY SKY card stock.  On the LONG SIDE, score at 8-3/8in, and 8-5/8in.  Fold and crease these score lines.  This is the binding for your cover.  

Next, take a JR size Steno Pad and a 1in by 11in strip of coordinating card stock.  Lift up the pages and wrap the strip around the card board backing of the tablet right up against the perforations.  Wrap it somewhat loosely and adhere together on the back of the backing using TOMBOW.  Apply TOMBOW to the length of the strip on the back side, center the tablet on the inside back cover and adhere. Add a 1in by 5in strip of coordinating DSP to the top of the tablet.

For the front cover, cut out two 4in by 4-7/8in panels, one of PARAKEET PARTY card stock and the other of coordinating DSP.  Adhere them to the front cover as shown.  Add a 1-1/4in by 5in strip of STARRY SKY in the center, covering where the two panels come together. 

Place a 3in circle from the LAYERING CIRCLE DIES on the front cover as shown.  Next using BASIC WHITE scrap paper, stamp the nest image in EARLY ESPRESSO INK, the branch image in CRUMB CAKE INK and the leaves image in PARAKEET PARTY INK.  Fussy cut all those images.

Punch two bird and small wing die cuts out of BALMY BLUE card stock.  Punch out two beaks using the MANGO MELODY card stock.  With MEMENTO BLACK INK, stamp the eyes on both birds and adhere the beaks.  Place the pieces on the front of the cover using DIMENSIONALS.  Before adhering the flying bird, stamp a pair of feet using MEMENTO BLACK INK just before placing it.  Using a 1/2in strip of BASIC WHITE card stock, stamp the sentiment from the PANSY PATCH stamp set using MEMENTO BLACK INK and adhere to the bottom front using DIMENSIONALS.
