What's your favorite SALE A BRATION freebie this month? I'm in love with the FRIENDLY HELLO STAMP SET and DSP. I love the color palate and of course the bird designs on the paper.
For my projects today, I made a birthday gift bag with a coordinating card. Let's make the gift bag first.
Start with a piece of coordinating card stock. I made the project using FRESH FRESIA, PETAL PINK and POOL PARTY card stock. Pick your favorite. Cut the card stock at 11in by 3-1/4in and score it on the LONG side at 4-3/4in by 6-1/4in. For the inside box, cut a panel the same color cardstock measuring 5in by 3-3/8in and score at 1in on all four sides.
Crease and fold the large panel. Adhere the coordinating DSP panels measuring 3-1/8in by 4-5/8in. Using a 1-3/8in CIRCLE PUNCH, punch out the treat bag handles as shown in the picture above.
Crease and fold the small panel. Cut loose the four corner tabs and adhere them to the side panels to form a box. Place TOMBOW on the bottom of the box and adhere it to the small center portion of the larger card stock piece.
For the front of the bag, stamp the bird image on a BASIC WHITE 2in circle using BLACK MEMENTO INK. Use the coordinating BLEND, color in the flowers and the tips of the bird's wings. Adhere it to a BASIC BLACK COORDINATING SCALLOP and place it on the front using DIMENSIONALS.
For the sentiment, cut out a 3/4in by 2-1/4in piece of coordinating card stock. Stamp the birthday sentiment on the strip using BLACK MEMENTO INK, cut a flag on the banner and adhere it to the front of the bag as shown. Tie the bag closed through the holes using any coordinating ribbon.
For the goodies in my bag, I used two GODIVA BIRTHDAY CAKE TRUFFLES.
For the coordinating card, I was inspired by Meg Loven at LOVEN STAMPS. She shared the amazing idea of using your DSP for the base of your cards. WOW! Game changer for me. We all have beautiful DSP in our stash and this is a great way to use it.
Start with a piece of DSP cut at 4in by 11in. Score on the LONG side at 3-1/4in by 8-1/2in. Crease and fold the panel, place TOMBOW on the backside of the center panel and adhere it to a piece of coordinating card stock measuring 4-1/4in by 5-1/2in.
Cut a piece of BASIC WHITE card stock at 5in by 3-3/4in for the inside panel. Stamp the sentiment in BLACK MEMENTO INK and the flower images in the coordinating color and adhere.
For the front of the card, use the smallest scalloped rectangle for the STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES in BASIC WHITE card stock. Stamp the HELLO FRIEND sentiment and the flowers from the bird image using BLACK MEMENTO INK as shown in the picture above. Color in the flowers using the coordinating BLEND. Cut a BASIC BLACK card stock strip measuring 1in by 4in and a coordinating card stock strip at 1/2in by 4in, layer them and adhere them to the back of the scalloped rectangle. Cut the right end of the strip at an upward angle and adhere it to the front of the card using DIMENSIONALS. Because the sentiment piece overlaps both flaps of the card, be sure to only place the dimensionals on the left side.
The video below shows how the treat bag and card come together.
