CREATE A LARGE TRIANGLE BOX WITH A MAGNETIC CLOSURE

Only a few more weeks before the new 2022-23 Stampin' Up Catalog drops with all its amazing products.  As a demonstrator, this is always an exciting time.  But before I turn my creative energies toward that catty, I thought I'd bid goodbye to some of my favorites from the current catalog.

The HAND-PENNED SUITE is one of those favs.  The bundle and DSP do not disappoint with the beautiful floral images.  This large triangle box was inspired by SALLY STAMPER in the UK. The projects is beautiful with these products but can be made with any of your favorites as well.

For the base, cut two panels of your choice of card stock.  One at 10in by 8-1/2in, one at 8in by 8-1/2in. The card stock in the photo above is POOL PARTY. I chose SO SAFFRON in the video tutorial below.  Score both pieces at 4in and 8in, rotate clockwise and repeat.  After creasing the score lines and cutting away the excess, your box panels should look like this. You will also need to create the triangular folds on the upper panels that are not connected to the small tabs.  To do that, measure across the top of the panel to 2in and using a ruler, score from that point to the bottom corners.

Assemble the box by applying TOMBOW to the small panels, folding in the bottom flaps and gluing down the outside flap. Cut THREE coordinating DSP panels, two at 3-3/4in by 3-3/4in and ONE at 3-3/4in by 1-3/4in.

Fold down the front flap with the rounded edges and using a GLUE DOT, place one magnet under the center of the flap to the large front panel.  Now adhere your large pieces of DSP to your box.  Next fold down the front flap and place the second magnet on the front of the flap where it attracts to the other.  Use a GLUE DOT, then adhere the small panel of DSP over it.  I used the TRIO PUNCH to round the corners of the flap and the DSP if desired.

For the embellishment on the front of the box, I cut out a BASIC WHITE circle and a coordinating SO SAFFRON scallop.  On the circle, I stamped a flower image and the sentiment using MEMENTO BLACK INK.  I then stamped using DAFFODIL DELIGHT, HIGHLAND HEATHER and JUST JADE ink with the coordinating stamps to fill in the images.  I glued those pieces together and placed it on the front of the box as showed using DIMENSIONALS.  Finally, add a BASIC WHITE BAKER'S TWINE bow to the circle using a GLUE DOT.
