The palette really lends to the seasonal theme that the suite has. This unique stamp and framelit set allows you to make cards for all seasons of the year. Its versatility allows you to make cards for special occasions all year round. I played with the suite and came up with a set of cards showing each of the lovely seasonal themes.
I used the beautiful COLOR THEORY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK, the larger piece (4 in by 5 1/4 in) of the darker crackle effect paper and a smaller piece (3 1/2 in by 2 3/4 in) of the same color lighter crackle effect paper. I stamped the sentiments on a 2 1/2 in square piece of WHISPER WHITE and layer it on a piece of the corresponding cardstock (2 3/4 in square). I used the COLORFUL SEASONS stamp set and SEASONAL LAYERS THINLITS DIES to make all the images.
Continuing with the seasonal concept, I was inspired to make a COLOR THEORY SAMPLER. I used an 8 X 8 frame that I purchased at Michaels. They come in packs of four for about $12. I, of course used a coupon and got them for less than $2 each. The base is an 8 in by 8 in piece of BASIC BLACK cardstock. I used COLOR THEORY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK squares cut at 3 1/4 in and layered them with coordinating cardstock at 3 1/2 in square. A variety of images from the stamp set and diecuts from the framelit set were used. I stamped the sentiment on WHISPER WHITE cardstock in BLACK ARCHIVAL ink and cut it with the LAYER OVAL FRAMELITS and layered it with a BASIC BLACK scalloped oval. What a nice gift for someone special!
Finding inspiration from MARY FISH, I took a more modern approach to the next set of cards. Mary demonstrated the COLOR BLOCKING technique for the cards. Her YouTube video link is below.
As with my cards above, I made one in each color. I really love how they turned out.
I used the sentiments from the COLORFUL SEASONS stamp set and the corresponding SEASONAL LAYERS framelits dies. I made the chairs using the WOOD TEXTURES Designer Series Paper Stack, another product in the new catalog available June 1st.
I was left with a small piece of DSP for each color and used them to make these very simple modern looking note cards. I used white embossing powder to help make those sentiments POP.
I hope you love the COLOR THEORY SUITE as much as I do. So many beautiful possibilities. If you would like to try one of these projects click on the link below to shop at my online store.
