PROJECT #1- SPOOKY CAT MASON JAR TREATS
Summer is coming to an end and I'm so excited that the STAMPIN' UP HOLIDAY CATALOG will go LIVE on September 1st. The first big holiday of the season is HALLOWEEN, and the city I live this is a big, big holiday. As always, Stampin' Up does not disappoint and has launched some adorable products for Halloween projects.
My first project is a fun decorated mason jar with candy corn inside. What a great gift for teachers, co workers and friends. The jars I used are from the BALL Collection Elite Design Series. They are the Wide Mouth Half Pint Jars and I found them at a local hardware store but can be found anywhere mason jars are sold.
I used the SPOOKY CAT stamp set (144749) from the new holiday catalog. I also used the SPOOKY NIGHT DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (144610), the VINTAGE CROCHET TRIM (144611) and the CAT PUNCH (144666). The CAT PUNCH and the SPOOKY CAT stamp set are available in a bundle (146014), saving you 10%.
First, I took a piece of the polka dot DSP and using the jar lid, traced a circle on to the paper. I then cut it out and adhered it to the jar lid using FAST FUSE. Then on a scrap of WHISPER WHITE PAPER, I stamped the "wordy cat" image using TANGERINE TANGO INK. I then took the small cat face image and stamped it on the cat using ARCHIVAL BLACK INK. Using the CAT PUNCH, it punched out the cat image and adhered it to the lid of the jar using DIMENSIONALS. Fill the jar with candy corn, or the treat of your choice, and screw on the lid.
Now it's time to make the tag. Using ARCHIVAL BLACK INK, I stamped the "A WICKED YUMMY TREAT FOR YOU" sentiment on a piece of PUMPKIN PIE CARDSTOCK. Using the STITCHED SHAPED FRAMELITS and the BIG SHOT, I cut out the tag. Then on a 1/2 in. by 2 1/2 in strip of WHISPER WHITE CARDSTOCK, I stamped the "Happy Halloween" sentiment using TANGERINE TANGO INK. I snipped the ends to make the banner and adhered it to my tag in the center using DIMENSIONALS. Using a hole punch, I punched a hole in the left side of the tag and tied it to the jar using the VINTAGE CROCHET TRIM. So cute and so fast. Can't wait to share these with friends and family. Stay tuned for NINE MORE TERRIFIC HALLOWEEN PROJECTS.
