PULL & POP FUN FOLD CARD featuring the SWEET SONGBIRDS BUNDLE

So excited to share this post today.  I am such a fan of Fun Fold cards and I have found a new design.  Thanks to my fellow demonstrator at Ruth's Craft Corner I created this unique and adorable PULL & POP card featuring the SWEET SONGBIRDS PUNCH BUNDLE.

I also used DSP from the new 6X6 2022-24 Designer Series Paper Pack.  The colors are so beautiful, I had a hard time choosing which I wanted for the card...so I made one in each color.

This card is made up of three pieces of card stock, a card base, an inner card and the pop mechanism.  For the card base cut a piece of card stock at 5-1/4in by 9-3/4in, score the LONG side at 4-1/4in and the SHORT side at 1/2in from each side. Fold and crease on the score lines and cut away the 1/2in panels along the long side of the card stock.

Next, create the inner card.  Use the same color card stock, cut at 3-3/4in by 7-1/2in.  Score on the LONG side at 3-1/2in. Place the DSP on the outside and inside of this inner card.  Dimensions are 4-1/4in by 3-1/2in and 2-3/4in by 3-1/2in.  Stamp your inside sentiment on the BASIC WHITE insert, cut at 2-1/4in by 3-1/4in and adhere it to the inside of the inner card.

For the mechanism, cut a piece of cardstock at 2-1/2in by 2-1/2in and score at 3/8in from each end.  Crease, score and use your BONE FOLDER to break down the fibers before adding it to the card.  Place TEAR & TAPE on each of the 3/8in tabs.  Take off the backing on one of the tabs. Line up that edge with the very top of the inner card.

Add TEAR & TAPE to the edges of the card base and lay it down on your work space.  Remove the second piece of TEAR & TAPE from your mechanism.  Line up the inner card inside the base so that the edge of the mechanism already placed lines up with the top edge of the card base.  Fold the card base over top.  Now remove the TEAR & TAPE from the edges of the base and close up the card. Add the 4in by 1-1/2in piece of DSP on the bottom edge of the card base to prevent the pull out piece from getting caught on the inside tabs.

For the card front, use a piece of 4in by 4in DSP.  The BASIC WHITE (2-7/8in by 2-7/8in panel) and the colored card stock (3in by 3in panel) are cut to create the embellishment on the front.  On the BASIC WHITE panel, stamp the branch image using CRUMB CAKE ink along the bottom.  Add leaves using PARAKEET PARTY ink.  Stamp the notes image using MEMENTO BLACK ink at the top right corner.  On a scrap piece of BASIC WHITE, stamp the bird and small wing images using coordinating ink and the nest image using EARLY ESPRESSO.  Punch out the bird pieces and "fussy cut" the nest.  Punch out the tiny beak using a scrap of MANGO MELODY card stock.  Adhere to the bird using TOMBOW.  Place all the pieces on the BASIC WHITE panel using DIMENSIONALS.

For the sentiment, use a 5/8in strip.  Stamp the sentiment using MEMENTO BLACK ink.  Add it to the bottom of the card front as shown using DIMENSIONALS.  Finally, place a few of the 2022-24 IN COLOR MATTE DECORATIVE DOTS to finish off the adorable card.

The video below, shows how the card came together.
