Let's Make Some Valentine Treat Holders using the Country Floral Lane Suite- #1 GOODIE BAG WITH A BELLY BAND

 

The new Jan-April 2023 Mini Catalog is AH-MAZING.  It's been so exciting checking out the new product and thinking about future projects.  Being early January, it's time to begin creating some lovely goodies for Valentine's Day.  I loved Valentine's Day as a child.  Decorating an old shoe box and addressing cards to all my classmates.  I still love the holiday, but I now use it as an opportunity to let my friends know how much I love and appreciate them.  The next four blog posts will include ideas for creating cute and yummy treats for your favorite valentines.  

For my first project, I'm sharing this cute GOODIE BAG WITH A BELLY BAND filled with Hershey Chocolate Hearts.  For this and all of my projects, I used products from the COUNTRY FLORAL LANE SUITE.

The suite screams VALENTINE'S DAY, but certainly can be used for any occasion.  The color palate is beautiful and the embellishments are so nice.

To create this GOODIE BAG, start with a piece of STRAWBERRY SORBET card stock, cut at 4-1/2in by 7-1/2in.  On the LONG side, score at 1/2in, 1-1/2in, 4in, 5in.  On the SHORT side, score at 1in.  After creasing the score lines and cutting away excess card stock, your bag should look like the picture below.

Before assembling the bag, adhere two panels of the coordinating DSP cut at 2-3/8in by 3-3/8in on the large areas on the card stock.  Next, adhere the bag together by applying liquid glue to the 1/2in panel and the bottom flaps.  

To create the belly band, cut a strip of PETAL PINK card stock measuring 1-1/4in by 9-1/8in.  Score at 4in from each end.  Fill the bag half full with the chocolate hearts and pinch the top closed. Wrap the belly band around the bag, punch two holes in the top with a 1/8in CIRCLE PUNCH and thread through and tie a piece of the REAL RED RIBBON from the REAL RED & BURLAP RIBBON COMBO PACK.

For the embellishment on the front, start with a 2in BASIC WHITE circle.  Using the COUNTRY BOUQUET PUNCH, cut out a heart and two leaf images from the coordinating DSP.  You can also use the heart and leaf stamps and punch to achieve the same look.  Using MEMENTO BLACK INK, stamp the FOR YOU sentiment in the center of the heart.  Attach the heart and leaves to the 2in circle using DIMENSIONALS.  Add the circle to the belly band using DIMENSIONALS.
