I'm back again and it's time for more Halloween projects. For DAY #2, I have created a cute MONSTER TREAT BOX and a coordinating card. I've always loved punch art and this cute little guy is perfect for a Halloween treat. To keep the theme going, I put a bag of MONSTER TRAIL MIX that I found at Target but you can use any small treat.
To create the treat box, start with a piece of STARRY SKY card stock measuring 8-1/4in by 5-1/2in. On the LONG side, score at 3/4in, 3-3/4in, 4-1/2in and 7-1/2in. On the SHORT side, score at 3/4in from both ends. Crease the score lines using your BONE FOLDER.
Using your PAPER SNIPS, cut on the 3/4in score lines to release the six box tabs. Cut away some of the edge to help the box come together more smoothly. Put TOMBOW LIQUID GLUE on each of the tabs and assemble the box like a clam shell.
Cut a second panel of STARRY SKY card stock measuring 2-3/4in by 3in. Use your PAPER SNIPS along one of the short sides and curve the edge to create the monster's smile. To create the teeth, cut a BASIC WHITE piece of card stock at 2-3/4in by 3-1/2in and adhere it to the back of the STARRY SKY panel. Cut a curve that follows the curve on the STARRY SKY panel, leaving about 1/2in of BASIC WHITE card stock.
Now make four snips, perpendicular to the STARRY SKY panel into the BASIC WHITE card stock. Snip between those four snips to create the monster teeth. Add the panel to the front of the box using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS.
For the monster's face, cut out three 3/4in circles, two using PARAKEET PARTY CARD STOCK and one using STARRY SKY CARD STOCK. Cut out two 1/2in circles using BASIC BLACK CARD STOCK and add curved lines using a white gel pen. Layer the PARAKEET PARTY circles and the BASIC BLACK circles and add them to the box using TOMBOW.
Place the STARRY SKY CARD STOCK 3/4in circle with a STAMPIN DIMENSIONAL for the nose. To add the eyelids, punch out a 1-3/8in circle using STARRY SKY CARD STOCK, cut it in half and add to the box using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS.
For the card, use the same directions as you did for the box. I used STARRY SKY CARD STOCK for the card base but used a piece of DSP for the monster itself. I also added a 1-3/8in BASIC WHITE circle with the sentiment in STARRY SKY INK in the bottom right corner.
