8 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN- WEEK #1- GOODIE BAG & COORDINATING CARD featuring the THEM BONES SUITE

August is nearly over, the kids are back to school and HALLOWEEN is just around the corner.  My customers have always loved this time of year and I try to give them as many great project ideas I can.  I started the 8 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN series a year ago and it was a huge success.  I mean what's better than fun projects and CANDY???  I hope you get inspired to create something for your favorite trick or treaters.  

For all my projects in this series, I used the adorable THEM BONES SUITE.  The suite is available starting in September in the new STAMPIN' UP MINI CATALOG- SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2023.  This suite is the perfect for all things Halloween.

The suite includes the BAG OF BONES BUNDLE which includes the BAG OF BONES STAMP SET and the BAG OF BONES DIE.  The THEM BONES 12x12 DESIGNER SERIES PAPER is so cute, sporting great Halloween images, including skeletons, bats and ghosts.  Not pictured are two fun GLOW IN THE DARK products, 6X6 SPECIALTY PAPER and BATS & GHOSTS EMBELLISHMENTS.  

For the GOODIE BAG, start with a piece of DSP measuring 6in by 9-1/2in.  On the LONG side, score at 1/2in, 3-1/2in, 5in and 8in.  On the SHORT side, score at 1-1/2in.  

Apply TOMBOW LIQUID GLUE to the the 1/2in vertical panel and fold the bag closed.  Then apply to the small bottom flaps and fold the bottom closed. Pinch the top of the bag together, carefully folding in the sides and hold closed with a clip.  Tie a bow on the clip using the BLACK & WHITE 1/4IN GINGHAM RIBBON.  

To create the embellishment on the front of the bag, cut a 2-3/8in circle out of the GLOW IN THE DARK SPECIALTY PAPER.  For the banner, cut a 2in by 4in piece of the bones DSP and flag the bottom.  Adhere the circle to the top.  Stamp the skeleton image on a piece of BASIC WHITE scrap with SMOKY SLATE INK.  Cut out using the coordinating die.  Stamp the sentiment in CAJUN CRAZE INK and cut it out ransom note style.  Adhere to the ribbon as shown using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS.  Clip the ribbon on the front of the goodie bag.

For the coordinating card, start with a SMOKY SLATE card base.  Add a 4in by 5-1/4in layer of the bones DSP.  On the right side of the card front add a piece of the herringbone design DSP measuring 2in by 4in.  On the right side, add the grave marker, cut out of the GLOW IN THE DARK SPECIALTY PAPER using the die.  Next, stamp the bat image on a 2-3/4in SMOKY SLATE circle and add to card front as shown with STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS.  

Stamp a skeleton and cat image in SMOKY SLATE on BASIC WHITE and cut out using the coordinating dies.  Place the cat on the bottom corner of the grave marker using TOMBOW.  Use a WOBBLE to attach the skeleton at the center of the circles.  Wobbles are available on AMAZON.  Link below.

Cut a 3/4in strip of BASIC WHITE card stock and stamp the sentiment using CAJUN CRAZE INK.  Add to card as shown.  Finish card front with a black bow, made using black baker's twine from the BAKER'S TWINE ESSENTIAL PACK.  Click on the link below if you'd like to see how both projects come together.
