Getting Ready for Spring Craft Season- Part 3 Easter Carrot Crate

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!  It's Spring.  Here in Pennsylvania, Mother Nature delivered her last minute winter blast just last week.  We had over 18 inches of snow and the winds were downright frigid.  But this crafter would not be deterred.  I love preparing for the Spring Craft shows and this final blog post related to my show items highlights two projects that I came up with on my own.  I found adorable Easter sweets and had to come up with a cute way to package them.  I'm pretty happy about what I came up with.

I was shopping at Target and found these adorable chocolate carrots in the Easter candy section.  There were about 9 carrots in each net bag for only $1.  I loved the carrots but was not crazy about the bag.  I came up with a wooden crate box that holds four carrots.  I started with a piece of CRUMB CAKE cardstock and using SOFT SUEDE ink with the WOODGRAIN background stamp, I stamped the wood image, covering the front and back of the cardstock.  I then took my STAMPIN' UP SCORING BOARD and scored the cardstock on the long side at 1/2 in and 4 1/2 in and on the short side at 2 in and 2 1/2 in.  Using my PAPER SNIPS and holding the cardstock in the landscape position, I cut the score lines along the sides just to the intersecting score line.  Using my FAST FUSE, I put adhesive on the outside tabs of the bottom panel, folded in the smallest tabs and adhered them to the inside of the remaining tabs.  Using the BASKET BUILDER BUNDLE, I stamped a rabbit image in ARCHIVAL BLACK ink and colored in the ears and tie using STAMPIN' UP MARKERS, BLUSHING BRIDE and PACIFIC POINT.  The banner, measuring 2 1/4 in by 3/4 in, uses ARCHIVAL BLACK INK as well and the HAPPY EASTER sentiment from the EASTER MESSAGE stamp set.  I used two BRIGHTS ENAMEL DOTS to give the banner a little flare.  Below is a link to the YouTube tutorial.
