Tea and Biscotti Gift Box using the TEA ROOM SUITE

I've always been a tea drinker.  Even as a teacher, while those around me were consuming shockingly large amounts of coffee, I never developed a taste for the beverage.  Hot tea, cold tea, only tea for me!  So naturally when I spied the TEA ROOM SUITE in the new Stampin Up Annual Catalog, it was an easy sell.  I loved the bundle, with adorable images and sentiments and the coordinating framelits. But the vintage style designer series paper, is easily my favorite product in the suite.  I used this suite for the CARDS & COFFEE class (changed to tea for this class) in August.  I made sure to make some cards and of course a couple of fun 3-D items.  Let's start with the cards.  Here are my samples:

I love the color palette for this card and for the whole suite as a matter of fact.  Colors used on this card are CALYPSO CORAL, POOL PARTY and OLD OLIVE.  I used the TEA ROOM SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER for the background on the card base and the strip down the center of the front.  I also cut out a large scallop using the LAYERING CIRCLE FRAMELIT DIES.

On this card I really tried to show off the beautiful designs on the paper and how amazingly they coordinate.  Here I used POOL PARTY and CAJUN CRAZE.  I stamped the tea cut using MEMENTO INK on watercolor paper, I colored it with POOL PARTY INK, using an AQUAPAINTER.  Really love how it turned out.

On this card, I tried to move away from the suite's palette to show the set's versatility.  The card base is BLUEBERRY BUSHEL, one of the new INCOLORS.  I then took two small WHISPER WHITE panels and stamped two different images using the BLUEBERRY BUSHEL INK.  I cut out the scallop and the tea cup using the coordinating SPOT OF TEA FRAMELIT DIES.  I really like this color combination, it would look great in my kitchen.

My two final projects are 3D items.  First the Tea Bag Holder.

This is a quick and easy project, perfect for a party favor.  The box will hold a Ghirardelli chocolate as well.  I started with a 4 in by 7 1/2 in piece of CALYPSO CORAL cardstock.  Before scoring, I randomly stamped the flower image all over, using CALYPSO CORAL INK.  Then, I used my STAMPIN UP SCORING BOARD, scoring the long side at 3, 3 1/2, 6 1/2, 7 in and the short side at 1/2 in.  I creased all  the score lines using my BONE FOLDER and put a piece of TEAR & TAPE on both of the small flaps, first adhering the side flap, then the bottom.  I used a piece of DSP (2 1/4 in by 2 1/2 in) bordered with a coordinating color, here I used RICH RAZZLEBERRY.  I stamped the sentiment in RICH RAZZLEBERRY on VERY VANILLA card stock and stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves using CALYPSO CORAL AND OLD OLIVE.

My last project is my favorite.  I love biscotti and couldn't think of a better addition to a tea box gift.  I found these mini biscotti at a local convenience store and the creative juices just started flowing.
