4 WEEKS OF HALLOWEEN- Project #1- Square Bottom Treat Pouch

It's finally September!  Today it's at least 90 degrees out there but the weather can't stop me from thinking about HALLOWEEN.  It's time to start planning and crafting for the big day.  My kids are college age so the days of dressing up and gallivanting around the neighborhood are over.  I do still enjoy greeting the adorable ghosts and goblins that do come to my door for treat or treating.

The Holiday Catalog goes live on September 5th, so it's time for all my crafty friends to take advantage of the amazing products Stampin' Up has to offer for Halloween.

The TOIL & TROUBLE SUITE is just what you need for all you Halloween needs.  The CAULDRON BUBBLE BUNDLE (149931) is the backbone of the suite, with adorable images and framelits that made card and project making a breeze.  The TOIL & TROUBLE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (147531) is fun and festive.  What is amazing about this paper is that many of the images on the paper can be cut out using the framelits saving more time when creating projects.

           Pretty cool, huh?

For Week 1 of my 4 WEEKS OF HALLOWEEN, I've made a SQUARE BOTTOM TREAT POUCH.  I've always liked making the treat pouches for my trick or treaters but by adding the square bottom, the pouches can stand on a table and hold a bit more too.

I start with a 6 by 6in piece of Designer Series Paper. Score one side at 1 3/8in (this will be the bottom panel of your pouch). Turn your paper clockwise.   Score at 1 3/8in only to the horizontal score line.  Then  score at 2 3/4in all the way to the bottom of the paper.  Next, score at 4 1/8in only to the horizontal score line.  Finally, score at 5 ½in all the way to the bottom of the paper.  Crease all the score lines.

Now cut off the smallest rectangle piece along the 1/2in edge. Make the tabs by cutting all the score lines up to the horizontal score line.   Put TEAR & TAPE on the thin flap and adhere pouch together. Close the bottom flaps using TEAR & TAPE.  Using a ½ in CIRCLE PUNCH, punch a hole in the top of the pouch.  Using a piece of the BLACK GLITTERED ORGANDY RIBBON, tie closed the pouch.

And that's it.  Of course you want to fill it with your favorite sweets before you tie it closed.  Below is a video tutorial.

I hope you enjoyed Week #1 of my 4 WEEKS OF HALLOWEEN.
