Now that it's finally September, it feels more like Fall. With the beginning of Fall comes the excitement of Halloween. Today's project is a great one for everyone looking for quick and easy treat holders for your favorite trick or treaters. Stampin' Ups new MONSTER BASH SUITE makes project making easy and fun.
This project is actually two projects. I used black mini lunch bags purchased at Michaels. Michaels is a great place to get paper and plastic bags of all colors and sizes.
First, I put the treat bag on the trimmer and cut it at 4-3/8in from the bottom. The small portion on top will be used for the second treat holder. For the larger treat bag, cut two BASIC BLACK panels. The larger one is 3-5/8in by 5-3/4in, scored at 1-1/4in. The smaller is 3-5/8in by 4-1/2in. Using TEAR & TAPE, adhere the larger panel to the back of the bag, folding over at the score line. The smaller panel adheres to the front. Designer Series Paper from the suite is then cut and layered on the BASIC BLACK panels (3-3/8in by 4-1/4in, 3-3/8in by 1in). The video below shows how the rest of the treat bag came together.
The smaller treat holder uses a piece of PUMPKIN PIE cardstock cut at 3-3/4in by 8in, scored at 1-1/2in, 2in, 4-3/4in and 5-1/4in. Designer Series Paper panels for the treat holder are cut at 2-1/2in by 3-1/2in and 1-1/4 by 3-1/2in. The remaining piece of the paper bag is then adhered to the inside of the PUMPKIN PIE strip. The video below shows how I embellished the front of the smaller treat holder.
