TWO CHRISTMAS PINWHEEL CARDS featuring the TIDINGS OF CHRISTMAS SUITE

Christmas is still month's away but at Stampin' Up, there is always a chance to begin your holiday cards early.  The TIDINGS OF CHRISTMAS SUITE is a collection of products available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog and includes beautiful paper that is definitely the highlight of this card.  The 6X6 paper stack is called TIDINGS OF CHRISTMAS and includes a beautiful yet unique color palate.

Although I did not use much from the bundle for this project, the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set and the Christmas Tidings Dies are great for so many holiday projects. For these cards, I used the "Noel" and the "Wishing you.." sentiment stamps.

I started with a piece of SAHARA SAND card stock, cut at 4-1/4in by 11in.  I scored on the LONG side at 5-1/2in and 6-3/4in, folded and creased the card base with my BONE FOLDER.  I then put TOMBOW adhesive on the inside of the card base, just below the 5-1/2in score and just above the 6-3/4in score.  I closed the card to create a 1-1/4in "binding" along the top of the card.

For the DSP on the card front, I cut two panels of the SOFT SUCCULENT pattern shown above (4in by 4in and 4in by 1in).  For the pinwheel, cut a piece of EVENING EVERGREEN card stock at 3in by 3in and two pieces of SOFT SUCCULENT card stock at 2-5/8in by 2-5/8in.  Then choose two coordinating DSP from the paper stack and cut 1-1/4in squares, 4 of each pattern for a total of 8 squares.

Adhere the SOFT SUCCULENT card stock pieces together to form an eight pointed star.  Turn the star until any of the points is pointing up and begin adhering your DSP squares.  For the first one, only put glue on the left half of the square and place it right at the top where the point is.  Then alternating patterns, move around the star, being careful to line it up with the SOFT SUCCULENT base.  When you get to the last square, you will have to slide the top left part of the square behind the beginning square then make sure everything is well attached.  Then glue the completed pinwheel on to the EVENING EVERGREEN card stock square.

Adhere this to the card front using TOMBOW.  Stamp the "Noel" sentiment on a 1-3/8in circle die from the LAYERING CIRCLE DIES.  Cut a coordinating scallop out of GOLD FOIL PAPER.

Layer them using TOMBOW and place them on the center of the pinwheel using DIMENSIONALS.  Add an ELEGANT FACETED GEM just below the sentiment.  Add a piece of GOLD SHIMMER RIBBON to the top of the card just below the fold.  Finally, add a 4in by 4in piece of BASIC WHITE card stock inside.  Here is a picture of another card I made using different colors from the paper stack.
