MAKE A CUTE PAPER PUMPKIN FOR YOUR FALL DECOR featuring the Harvest Meadow DSP

In today's blog post, I'm sharing a cute little fall home décor piece that is quick and easy to make.  For the pumpkin pictured above, I used designer series paper from the HARVEST MEADOW DSP but you can use anything you like.  The project takes very few items and comes together quickly.

Cut 12 strips of the DSP.  I chose four different patterns, and cut three strips of each.  Cut strips should measure 1in by 7in.  Using my PAPER PIERCER, I put a hole at both ends of each strip, 1/2in from the end and 1/2in from each side.  I created a template so all my strips were pierced in the same place.

Then stack your strips in the order you wish the patterns to go, repeating the four strip pattern three times.  Place a brad through one end, close and turn the stack so that the patterns you want to show are facing the work surface.  Spread the strips our evenly in a circle.  The strips should form a plus sign with two strips in between each arm of the plus

Now get another brad and begin putting together the other ends of the strips.  The head of the brad should be on top and as you add another strip, it should be placed on the brad underneath the previous one.  Keep going until they're all attached.  Adjust strips until you are happy with the shape of the pumpkin.

To make the stem, cut a piece of CRUMB CAKE card stock at 1-1/2in by 1-1/4in.  On the SHORT side, score each 1/4in, fold and adhere to create a square tube shape.  Using PAPER SNIPS, cut up 1/2in from the bottom on the score lines.  Fold out the panels and adhere the paper stem to the top of the pumpkin, over the brad.

Finish off the pumpkin with two leaves, made with CRUMB card stock, crumbled and adhere at the base of the stem.  I used leaf dies from the FOREVER FLOURISHING DIES.  I then cut 1/4in strips of the DSP, curl them using the PAPER SNIPS and tuck and glue under one of the strips.

The video below shows how the pumpkin comes together.
