Make this cute POP AND SWING CARD using your favorite Christmas DSP

Christmas is less than two months away and stampers are busy working on holiday cards.  I wanted to share with you a fun fold card that can be made using holiday DSP you may not have the coordinating stamp set and dies for.  If you are like me, I love to collect all the gorgeous holiday paper that Stampin' Up offers but I usually don't buy all the coordinating bundles.  I know.  Big surprise. I gotta eat.  This card design allows you to pull in any holiday sentiments you may have in your stash and make it work with your favorite holiday paper.  The design was first shared by Lisa Curcio on one of her FB LIVEstreams.

Start with a MINT MACARON card base cut at 5-1/2in by 8-1/2in, score at 4-1/4in.  On the card front, adhere a piece of WHIMSY & WONDER DSP, cut at 4in by 5-1/4in.  Next, using the STAMPIN UP CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE /and the LAYERING CIRCLE DIES, cut a 2-1/8in circle out of the card front.  Also cut out the same size circle using BASIC WHITE card stock.

For the inside of the card, cut a piece of BASIC WHITE card stock at 5-1/4in by 6in and score at 2in and 4in.  Cut two pieces of DSP with a coordinating pattern for the inside, both at 2in by 5-1/4in.  Adhere them to the outside panels of the inside piece.  Now adhere the inside piece, placing adhesive only on the right side panel only.  Stamp the inside sentiment using MINT MACARON INK. To adhere the left side of the inside piece, use two MINT MACARON card stock tabs, cut at 1/2in by 4in, scored at 2in.  Fold and crease the tabs and one half to the top and bottom of the inside panel, lining up the folds with the edge of the panel.  Close the card and allow the other half of the tab to adhere to the top and bottom of the card base behind the inside panel.

To make the frame around the sentiment on the front of the card, take a scrap of MISTY MOONLIGHT and layer the 2-1/8in circle die and the next larger on the paper and run it through the die cut machine.  This will make the frame needed and it can be adhered to the card front around the circle.  Stamp the front sentiment on the BASIC WHITE 2-1/8in circle using MINT MACARON INK.  With the card closed, place adhesive  on the right side back of the circle and place it in the opening and press firmly to the inside panel.

To embellish the card, I fussy cut an ornament from the DSP and placed it on the card front using DIMENSIONALS.  Finally, I placed a bow using the GLITTERED ORGANDY RIBBON using GLUE DOTS.

Here's two pictures to show how the fun fold works.

Such a fun design which will surely impress the recipient.  Try it with any holiday paper you may have.  If you'd like a downloadable PDF tutorial for this project, click on the link below.
