CREATING WITH THE DELICATE DAHLIAS STAMP SET

Hey Stampers!!  Remember that amazing floral photopolymer stamp set you picked up for FREE during Sale A Bration? Me too.  It took me a while to pull it out and play but I've come up with some fun projects to share with you and some tips for using this this amazing set.

With Fall approaching, for one of my projects, I used colors that made the dahlias look more like mums.  Just love those fall colors and I think the card turned out beautifully.

For the card base, cut a piece of CAJUN CRAZE card stock at 4-1/4in by 11 and score on the LONG side at 5-1/2in.  Cut two more layers for the card front.  A CRUSHED CURRY piece cut at 4in by 5-1/2in and a BASIC WHITE piece, cut at 3-3/4in by 5in.

On the BASIC WHITE layer, stamp two dahlia images using the DAFFODIL DELIGHT INK.  This is a two-step stamped image.  Use the flower image first, then the outline, both in DAFFODIL DELIGHT.  Next, stamp three dahlia images using the CALYPSO CORAL INK and the CAJUN CRAZE INK as shown in the sample.  Use the CALYPSO CORAL for the flower image and the CAJUN CRAZE for the outline.

To fill in the white areas, use the smaller flower image.  I used DAFFODIL DELIGHT INK and stamped off before stamping on the panel.

Lastly, use the speckled image from the FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS Stamp Set and lightly stamped around the panel using a stamped off image with CRUMB CAKE INK.

Adhere the BASIC WHITE layer to the CRUSHED CURRY layer then to the CAJUN CRAZE card base.

Stamp the sentiment in CAJUN CRAZE INK on the BASIC WHITE die cut, cut using a die from the ALL DRESSED UP DIES.

Using DIMENSIONALS, place the label on the bottom right side of the card front as shown.  Add a bow using the GOLD ELEGANT TRIM.  Be sure to include a 4in by 5-1/4in piece of BASIC WHITE card stock to the inside of the card.

For the second card, use a piece of BASIC BLACK card stock cut at 5-1/2in by 8-1/4in and scored on the LONG side at 4-1/4in. For layers on the card front, cut two more BASIC BLACK panels, one at 4in by 5-1/4in and one at 3-5/8in by 3-5/8in.  Cut a POLISHED PINK card stock panel at 3-3/4in by 3-3/4in.  You will be stamping on the BASIC WHITE panel, cut at 3-1/2in by 3-1/2in.

Stamp the flower image on the BASIC WHITE panel using POLISHED PINK INK for both of the two-step stamps.  Next, stamp the leaf image using PEAR PIZZAZZ INK at the top right of the flower using a POST IT NOTE mask. The leaf image is also a two-step stamp.  Use PEAR PIZZAZZ for both steps.

Stamp the sentiment at the bottom right hand side of the flower using BLACK MEMENTO INK.  Adhere together the BASIC WHITE, POLISHED PINK and the smaller BASIC BLACK PANEL placing the layered panels on the larger BASIC BLACK panel using DIMENSIONALS.  Take a piece of the BLACK & WHITE GINGHAM RIBBON and wrap it around the large panel below the flower panel.  Tie a bow on the right side of the panel and place it on the BASIC BLACK card front using DIMENSIONALS. Don't forget a 4in by 5-1/4in BASIC WHITE panel for inside the card.

So get that DELICATE DAHLIA stamp set out and give it a try.  Use your favorite ink colors.  You'll be happy with any color combination. Click the link below to see how both of these cards came together.
