TEN DAYS OF HALLOWEEN- DAY 1 MINI MOON PIE TREAT BOX

September is here, which means that Halloween is just around the corner.  It's time to start creating some cute treat holders for friends, family and trick or treaters. Welcome to TEN DAYS OF HALLOWEEN SERIES.  Today is Day 1 and our project is this adorable MINI MOON PIE TREAT BOX. These yummy treats are available at WALMART.

The paper used for this series is GINGHAM COTTAGE. This DSP pack comes with 48 sheets of 12 by 12 sheets and can be used for a variety of occasions.

The stamp set used is the SCARY CUTE STAMP SET.  The sentiments in this set are perfect and the adorable trick or treater shadows add a bit of scary to the product.

BASIC BLACK GINGHAM RIBBON was used on most projects.  It's the perfect Fall embellishment.

To create the MINI MOON PIE TREAT BOX, start with a piece of PUMPKIN PIE CARD STOCK cut at 6in by 8-3/4in.  On the LONG side, score at 1in, 4in, 5in and 8in.  Score at 1/2in, 1-1/2in, 4-1/2in and 5-1/2in on the SHORT side.  The template below shows how your box should look after creasing and cutting.

Cut a piece of the GINGHAM COTTAGE DSP at 2-3/4in by 2-3/4in.  Adhere it to the large flap of the box before assembling.  Then take a 2in CIRCLE PUNCH or DIE CUT and cut a circle out of the flap.  Using TOMBOW, assemble the treat box.

Use MEMENTO BLACK INK to stamp the Frankenstein image on a piece of BASIC WHITE CARD STOCK and fussy cut it out using PAPER SNIPS.  Then stamp the 'TRICK OR TREAT" sentiment on a 3/4in strip of PUMPKIN PIE.  Cut down the strip to fit on the front of the box as shown then add the image with DIMENSIONALS.

Finally add a piece of the BLACK GINGHAM RIBBON, wrapped around the flap and tied at the top right as shown.

I love the little window in the box.  The kids will be able to see the moon on this festive treat box.

The video below shows how the treat box comes together.
