Well here we are, the last day of my 8 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN SERIES. What fun I've had created and sharing all my ideas. For the last project, I am making a treat box for the ever popular Halloween delicacy, the REESES PEANUT BUTTER PUMPKIN. Always a favorite in our house but trick or treaters will come from far and wide to get one of these delicious treats.
I used the adorable THEM BONES SUITE to make this project as well as the coordinating card. The suite includes the BAG OF BONES BUNDLE and the THEM BONES DESIGNER SERIES PAPER and will be available for purchase starting in September. Did you get your new Mini Catalog September-December 2023?
To create the box, start with a piece of PUMPKIN PIE card stock measuring 6in by 7in. On the LONG side, score at 1in and 5in. On the SHORT side, score at 1in, 3in, 4in and 6in. Fold and crease the score lines with your bone folder. This is a clam shell style box and you will notice six 1in by 1in tabs on the card stock. Use your paper snips to cut them apart from the side panels and wedge the tabs in just a touch. Add TOMBOW to each of the tabs and assemble the box.
Add a piece of coordinating card stock measuring 1-7/8in by 3-7/8in. Secure using TOMBOW. For the embellishments, die cut one of the labels in SMOKY SLATE and use SMOKY SLATE INK to stamp the sentiment. Stamp the dog image using CAJUN CRAZE INK, die cut it out along with a tiny bone die cut and attach them to the label. Attach the entire piece to the right side of the box using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS. Add a piece of BLACK & WHITE GINGHAM RIBBON. Wrap it around the box on the left and tie a bow.
For the card, start with a piece of PUMPKIN PIE card stock for the base. Layer with a piece of coordinating card stock measuring 3-3/4in by 5in and a BASIC BLACK panel measuring 3-3/4in by 2in.
Stamp the skeleton image using SMOKY SLATE INK and the dog image using CAJUN CRAZE INK on a scrap of BASIC WHITE card stock and cut out using coordinating dies. Also cut out a tiny bone. Cut out a BASIC GRAY fence using the die.
Add the fence to the card front using TOMBOW. Add the skeleton and dog using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS. On a 3/4in strip of BASIC WHITE card stock, stamp in sentiment using SMOKY SLATE. Add to the top right of the card front using STAMPIN DIMENSIONALS. Add a few GLOW IN THE DARK bats to embellish. The link below shows how the projects came together.
