Living here in the south for two months now, it's hard to believe that kids have been in school for a week already. As a former teacher, an August 3rd start day seems crazy but then I think about the early May finish and it all makes sense.
It's always nice for a student to show up on the first day with a gift for the teacher. Hey, brownie points can start being accumulated on the first day. Your teacher will appreciate the gifts at the end of the day....I'm sure of it.
Start with a piece of BOHO BLUE card stock cut at 6-3/4in by 7-3/8in. On the LONG SIDE, score at 1-1/8in, 5-3/4in and 6-7/8in. Turn the card stock to the short side with the wider panel at the top, score at 1-1/8in to the first score line only, then continue to score the rest of the lines all the way to the bottom: 2-1/4in, 3-3/8in, 4-1/2in and 5-5/8in. After cutting away the excess card stock, your box will look like the template below.
With the template in the landscape position, round the outside corners using a corner rounder. Before assembling the box, adhere the DSP to the panels. For this project, I used the 6X6 2023-2025 INCOLOR PAPER PACK, specifically the BOHO BLUE heart design.
Cut 4 pieces, holding paper in landscape position at 1in by 4-1/2in. For the back of the box, cut 1 panel at 2-1/8in by 4-1/2in. Round the corners of one of each size panel and begin adhering them left to right on the box as shown above.
Assemble box and adhere by using TEAR N TAPE to the outside edges of the back side of the first small panel. This will create the slide in place for the gift card. Fold in the tabs on the left and glue closed. Fold in the right side with large flap in last.
To embellish, cut a piece of BASIC WHITE card stock at 1-7/8in by 3/4in. Stamp the THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING sentiment from the SEASIDE BAY stamp set. in BOHO BLUE INK. Adhere it to a 2in by 7/8in piece of BOHO BLUE card stock and attach it to the box using DIMENSIONALS.
To finish, tie a piece of ribbon around the middle of the treat box. I used the 3/8in SHEER RIBBON COMBO PACK.
