Getting Ready for the Spring Craft Shows Part 1

It's early March here and even though it's still quite chilly, it's time to start preparing for our Spring Craft Shows.  I love this time of year for many reasons.  Mostly because the weather is starting to change and it will soon be warm.  I also love to design spring paper crafting projects using all the new Stampin' Up products from the All-Occasions Catalog.  The first show is just a little over a week away so I wanted to share some of my projects with my readers.  Please remember all these projects use products you can buy in my online store and are easy to make.  If you have any questions about any of the projects don't hesitate to message me or email me.  Ok..... let's get started.

One of my favorite things to make for the craft shows are the stationery sets.  They are very popular as well.  I use the small 5 in by 8 in steno pads and the 3 in by 3 in Post-It notepads.  The Pentel RSVP pens are great because you can slide a 1 in by 3 in piece of Designer Series Paper in the barrel to make it coordinate with the set.  The paper pads are the perfect size to use a 8 1/2 in by 11 in piece of cardstock, scoring at 5 1/4 in and 5 3/4 in on the long side to make the folder cover.  Pick your favorite paper and sentiments and be creative.  I love to put inspirational quotes on mine.  For the craft show, I put the set in a large plastic bag and tie it with a ribbon and tag.

The top spiral pads I found at the Dollar Store.  They have a lovely kraft cover, perfect for decorating.  I also include a pen with these notepads, no Post-Its.  I return the finished notepad to the original packaging then cover the tag on top with some coordinating paper and embellishments. So cute. I used the SWEET CUPCAKE stamp and framelit set for the notebooks. These are going to be a hot seller this year.  Who doesn't love cupcakes?

Another favorite of mine are the long skinny boxes filled with foil Easter eggs.  These were very popular and I ended up getting a customer who ordered them for her wedding.  How fun!!  I start with a piece of 11 in by 4 in Whisper White cardstock.  I used the FALLING FLOWERS stamp set to decorate the paper, randomly stamping the flourish in TEMPTING TURQUOISE, DAFFODIL DELIGHT, MELON MAMBO and WILD WASABI.  Then using my scoring board, I scored on the long side at 1/2 in, 1 in, 10 in. and 10 1/2 in and the short side at 7/8 in, 1 6/8 in, 2 5/8 in and 3 1/2 in.  Fold on all the score lines.  Using your window punch, cut a window out of one of the panels.  Apply FAST FUSE to the 1/2 in tab and assemble the box.  Squeeze one end of the box closed using the score lines and staple shut.  Add foil eggs and staple the other end closed.  I used colored tulle to decorate.  Very quick but an elegant gift for a friend.

What says warm weather more than WATERMELON?  These adorable boxes were made using Stampin' Ups BAKER'S BOX FRAMELIT set.  I used none other than WATERMELON WONDER card stock for the base.  The rind was made using an inch wide strip of DSP from the COOL TREATS Suite and a 1/4 in strip of Whisper White cardstock.  The seeds were made of BASIC BLACK cardstock and cut from the JUST CUPCAKES framelit set using the cursive WISH framelit.  The small piece on the inside of the loop of the lowercase h looks just like a seed.  Pretty cool.  I adhered them to the box using TOMBOW glue.  The YUM tag comes from the BAKERS BOX set as well, tied on using black and white bakers twine.  I punched two holes in the top flap and laced the twine through before tying.  I filled the boxes with JOLLY RANCHERS WATERMELON CANDIES.   What a fun gift!!

I've got more projects to share on my next blog post, coming soon.  Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to sign up for notifications by signing up on the right column of my blog.  All I need is your email.  The All-Occasions and Annual Catalog are also available to look at.  Shop my online store for all your paper crafting needs.
