Monster Bash Halloween Treat Bow with Window

August is coming to a close and the kids are going back to school.  The stores are getting their Halloween candy and merchandise on the shelves, so it's time to start some creating.  The new MONSTER BASH SUITE by Stampin' Up is perfect for making cards and projects for your favorite trick or treaters, young and old alike.  The stamp set, SPOOKTACULAR BASH, has adorable monsters and great sentiments for the occasion.  The coordinating dies, ORNATE FRAMES, pairs beautifully with the stamp set.  These frames are amazing and I can see many uses beyond this set.

Adding to the fun is the adorable MONSTER BASH DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.  The paper has great images for the occasion, such as bats, haunted houses, and all kinds of scary monsters.

The treat box I designed can hold a lot of goodies.  In the picture, my treat box is holding a big bag of gummy worms.  Construction is quick and easy so you can make lots of these for all your friends.

Start with a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock measuring 11in by 6in.  On the long side, score at 1/2in, 2-1/2in, 5-3/4in and 7-3/4in.  On the short side, score at 2in.  Cut up vertically to the 2in score line.  These will be the flaps that create the bottom of the box.  Before assembling the box, you will adhere the DSP to the front and back panels of the box.  These pieces measure 3in by 3-3/4in.  The last step before assembling your box it to create the window on the front panel.  To do that you will run the box through the big shot using a 2in by 2in square die. I used a 3in by 3in piece of clear acetate to cover the window. Now you are ready to assemble.  Watch the video tutorial below for help with construction as well as how I embellished and filled the box.
