Birthday Bonanza Party Series #1 Buckle Card

Who doesn't love birthday parties?  When my girls were younger, I put a lot of time and effort into their birthday celebrations.  We had a theme of course and everything, decorations, invitations and food, had to be part of the theme.  We had a Pokemon party and an American Girl party just to name a couple.  Back then I found myself needing to go to the party store, the grocery store, Walmart and many others just to get everything I needed.  I wish I had been a Stampin' Up demonstrator back then.  The birthday bundles are always so festive and fun.  My favorite this year is the BIRTHDAY BONANZA SUITE.

The adorable animal theme is perfect for boys or girls of all ages.  The color palette is beautiful and the ribbon and embellishments are just perfect.

My new blog series will include projects that would be great additions to any birthday celebration.  My first is a card with a unique closure.  This buckle card using the BONANZA BUDDIES BUNDLE is a sweet way to wish someone a great day or a neat design to use for the party invitation.

For the card base, I cut a piece of Terra Cotta Tile card stock at 5-1/2in by 7-3/4in and scored at 4-1/4in.  The front panel is made using a 3-1/4in by 5-1/4in piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and a 3in by 5in piece of the BIRTHDAY BONANZA DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.  You will need the CLASSIC LABEL PUNCH to make the buckle on the card front. The paper strip for the buckle is cut at 1-1/2in by 6-1/2in., scored at 3-1/4in.  Watch the video tutorial below to see how I put the card together.
