MAKE THIS ADORABLE SUNSHINE GIFT BAG featuring the Sharing Sunshine Stamp Set and the New INCOLOR DSP

When I was a child, a friend of mine got very sick and needed at least a week, maybe more to recuperate.  When getting ready to go for a visit, my mom suggested we put together a SUNSHINE BOX.  A what????  A Sunshine Box is the gift that keeps on giving.  It contains many small gifts instead of one big gift that can be opened one at at time each day.  We even put the day of the week the gift was to be opened on the tag of each wrapped box.  I was so excited to take this to my friend because I knew it was a gift that would last a whole week.  She was so surprised to receive this unique gift that I never forgot the concept and have given different forms of a Sunshine Box for my whole adult life.  More recently, the color theme has become part of the gift so I am always will to jump on th latest trend, choosing the sunny color YELLOW for my gift bag contents.

The SHARING SUNSHINE Stamp Set was a perfect match for this gift idea.  The cute sun image and the versatile sentiments make this a great set to have in your stash.

While browsing through PINTEREST, I noticed that there were some cards created using this set and pairing it with POLISHED PINK Designer Series Paper.  I loved the combination, so I decided to make the bag using POLISHED PINK and CRUSHED CURRY for the sun.  The paper I used was in the new INCOLOR 6X6 PAPER STACK.  I love the new INCOLORS and I get so much use out of this stack because it gives you a variety of colors that match perfectly with the coordinating cardstock and the DSP has a variety of patterns in each color.

For the base of the gift bag, I used a piece of POLISHED PINK card stock measuring 5in by 2-1/2in, scored on all four sides at 1/2in.  I then took that piece of card stock, snipped the flaps loose and created a thin rectangular box.

I then took two sheets of the POLISHED PINK DSP cut at 6in by 4-1/2in.  These panels will form the body of the bag.  The panels go on in a landscape orientation with TEAR & TAPE applied to the bottom of each panel and the sides of the front panel.  Carefully adhere the back panel first, following along the base created with the card stock.  Do the same with the front panel, then carefully adhere the sides together.

Cut five 1/2in by 11in strips of POLISHED PINK card stock for the binding along the top, bottom and sides of the bag.  I used TEAR & TAPE to adhere them to the bag, cut off the excess and secured the ends with TOMBOW.

For the tag on the bag, start with a piece of POLISHED PINK card stock cut at 4in by 2-1/4in, scored at 1in on the long side.  Cut out a 3/8in CRUSHED CURRY circle and stamp the sun's face image on it using MEMENTO BLACK INK and POLISHED PINK INK for the cheeks.  On a 1-7/8in BASIC WHITE circle, stamp the sun rays image in CRUSHED CURRY INK.  Attach the sun together using DIMENSIONALS and then adhere the sun to the POLISHED PINK tag using DIMENSIONALS.  Create the flag at the bottom of the tag using the TAILORED LABEL PUNCH.  Fold at the 1in score line and adhere it to the inside of the bag using TOMBOW. I added a 3/4in by 11in strip of POLISHED PINK for the handle then tied a bow on top using the beautiful WHITE GLITTERED ORGANDY RIBBON.

The video below shows how the gift bag came together.

IT'S PEACH WEEK!!! PROJECT #2- PEACHY GIFT BAG featuring the YOU'RE A PEACH SUITE

I'm back again for PEACH WEEK!  Today my project is 3-D.  This beautiful gift bag is easy to make and is large enough to hold lots of goodies.  You can make two of these bags with one sheet of DSP.  Let's talk about the products I used for this projects.  First, I used a sheet of the amazing DSP.  There are so many beautiful choices for this bag.  I also used the YOU'RE A PEACH BUNDLE to create the tag on the front.  To tie up the bag, I used the PALE PAPAYA AND WHITE RIBBON.

1)To make the base of the gift bag, cut a piece of CALYPSO CORAL card stock measuring 3-1/2in by 3-1/2in.  Score each side at 1/2in.  Cut the square to create flaps and adhere to make open box.

2)Cut a piece of DSP at 6in by 11in and adhere a coordinating strip of DSP cut at 1-1/2in by 11in along the top of the larger piece of DSP.  Place TEAR & TAPE along the bottom of the inside of the large piece of DSP and one of the sides.  Wrap the panel around the base you created and carefully adhere it together.

3)Using a circle punch, create the handles of the bag and tie the bag closed with a piece of PALE PAPAYA AND WHITE WOVEN RIBBON.

4)Stamp the peach image using PALE PAPAYA INK on a scrap of BASIC WHITE card stock. Before stamping, use a SPONGE DAUBER to apply CALYPSO CORAL on one edge.  Stamp the leaf image using PEAR PIZZAZZ INK.  Cut out the images using the coordinating dies.

5)Stamp the sentiments on the 3-1/8in by 2in scalloped rectangle from the STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES.  Use CALYPSO CORAL INK for the THANKS FOR BEING AS sentiment and PEAR PIZZAZZ for the SWEET AS A PEACH sentiment. Adhere the peach and stem image on the scalloped rectangle using DIMENSIONALS.  Adhere the scalloped rectangle to the gift bag with DIMENSIONALS as well.

Check out the video below to see how the gift bag comes together.

IT'S SANTA WEEK!! Let 's make a Santa Gift Bag

To start of SANTA WEEK, I thought this cute Santa gift bag would be perfect.  If you are a fan of punch art you will LOVE this project.  Here are the products that I used.  First the punches.  I used a 1/2in Circle Punch for the eyes (BASIC BLACK) and a 3/4in Circle Punch for the nose (PETAL PINK).  For Santa's head and beard, I used the largest circle and scallop from the  LAYERING CIRCLE DIES.  These dies are a GO TO set in my craft room for everything.

Before building Santa, make the gift bag.  Start out with an 8in by 8in piece of REAL RED card stock. On one side, score at 3in and 5in. Turn counter clockwise and score at 2in and 6in.  From the paper left over, cut two strips of REAL RED at 11in by 1/2in for the handles.  Cut two WHISPER WHITE strips, one 3/4in by 8in for around the top of the bag and one at 1in by 4in for the fur portion of Santa's hat. To make the tag, I used the LABEL ME FANCY PUNCH and the PLAID TIDINGS AND BANNER YEAR stamp sets.

The video tutorial below shows how the gift bag came together.

A Tall Holiday Gift Bag with a Magnetic Closure featuring the TRIMMING THE TOWN SUITE

Gift bags are a main stay for my holiday present wrapping routine.  This design makes it easy because it uses a 12 X 12 sheet.  For this bag, I picked the TRIMMING THE TOWN designer series paper.  This paper just screams "Merry Christmas."  I love the cute little houses on this piece.

To make it start with your choice of a 12 X 12 piece of DSP.  On one side score at 2-1/4in, 5-3/4in, 8in and 11-1/2in.  Turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 2-1/4in, 9-1/4in and 11in.  I made the tag on the front using the HIPPO HAPPINESS dies and sentiments from the MERRY MOOSE stamp set.

To finish off the bag, I used the Poppy Parade ribbon from the ALL THE TRIMMINGS RIBBON COMBO PACK and a JINGLE BELL embellishment. I used tiny magnets to create the closure.  These can be purchased on Amazon.  Click the link below.

The video tutorial below shows how the gift bag comes together.

Need something for a Baby Birthday? HIPPO HAPPINESS can help you out. Mini Gift Bag and Coordinating Card

So excited to show other projects using the HIPPO HAPPINESS BUNDLE.  For this post I made a cute little gift bag using a 6 by 6 piece of designer series paper using the paper from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS SUITE.  This bundle was designed by Robyn Cardon, a Stampin' Up demonstrator celebrating here million dollar sales milestone.  Pretty amazing.  This bundle is "SO ROBYN' with the whimsical animals and the "punny" sentiments.  Not only does she include dies to cut out all the critters, but she also has amazing and unique label dies that make this bundle so versatile.

I also created a card to coordinate with the gift bag.  The gift bag I make in the video used Purple Posy, just like the card.

To make the bag, I used two 6in by 6in pieces of paper from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS PAPER STACK.  Using the SIMPLY SCORED SCORING TOOL, I scored both pieces of paper at 1-1/2in on three sides.  The side I did not score is the top of the bag.  The video tutorial below shows how the gift bag came together as well as the coordinating card.   Enjoy.

Quick and Easy Gift Bag using the CHRISTMASTIME IS HERE BUNDLE

With Christmas time less than two weeks away, I decided to do a project that I hope will help with your last minute wrapping.  This bag is easy to assemble, made using a 12in. by 12in piece of Designer Series Paper from the amazing CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE Product Suite.

This suite and many beautiful products, but the paper was absolutely gorgeous.  It had images of roses with a bit of gold foil to make it shine.  I used a 12in by 12in sheet and on the first side, I scored at 1-1/2in, 5-3/4in, 7-1/4in and 11-1/2in.  I turned the paper clockwise on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and scored again, at 1-1/2in and 10-1/2 in.  The video tutorial below will show you how I completed the project.
