A Tall Holiday Gift Bag with a Magnetic Closure featuring the TRIMMING THE TOWN SUITE

Gift bags are a main stay for my holiday present wrapping routine.  This design makes it easy because it uses a 12 X 12 sheet.  For this bag, I picked the TRIMMING THE TOWN designer series paper.  This paper just screams "Merry Christmas."  I love the cute little houses on this piece.

To make it start with your choice of a 12 X 12 piece of DSP.  On one side score at 2-1/4in, 5-3/4in, 8in and 11-1/2in.  Turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 2-1/4in, 9-1/4in and 11in.  I made the tag on the front using the HIPPO HAPPINESS dies and sentiments from the MERRY MOOSE stamp set.

To finish off the bag, I used the Poppy Parade ribbon from the ALL THE TRIMMINGS RIBBON COMBO PACK and a JINGLE BELL embellishment. I used tiny magnets to create the closure.  These can be purchased on Amazon.  Click the link below.

The video tutorial below shows how the gift bag comes together.

Let's Have Some Candy Corn Fun. Check out these cute treat holders for your favorite candy corn lovers.

It's CANDY CORN SEASON!  And this girl is pretty happy about it.  I know opinions are strong regarding these cute little candies but I'm on the YUM side.  When designing these projects, I wanted to go with a fall theme instead of Halloween.  That way you can make them through the entire season.  Let's start with adorable PLAID GUSSETED BAG.  This beautiful PLAID TIDINGS DSP comes in 6in by 6in pieces and that's exactly what you need to make the bag.  On the first 6in side, score at 1-1/4in, 1-5/8in, 2in, 4in, 4-3/8in and 4-3/4in.  Turn the paper 90 degrees and score the paper at 3/4in from both ends.

I used the pumpkin image from the GATHER TOGETHER bundle, stamped it with MEMENTO BLACK INK and colored it in with my PUMPKIN PIE and OLD OLIVE BLENDS.

For the window on the front of the bag, I used one of the rectangular dies from the HIPPO HAPPINESS BUNDLE.  I cut a piece of WINDOW SHEET at 2-3/4in by 4in and adhered it inside the bag with GLUE DOTS.  I used the smallest rectangle for the tag.

For the sentiment, I used the BANNER YEAR BUNDLE.  This set is a great one to have on hand for all those special occasions. The BANNER PUNCH makes cutting the tails of your banners for cards and projects very easy.

Finally, I used the BRAIDED LINEN THREAD to tie up my pouch after punching two holes with my 1/8in CIRCLE PUNCH.  Below is a link that shows how the gusseted bag come together.

My second project with the Matchbook Style Candy Corn Treat Holder.  I used many of the same products as I did with the gusseted bag.  I started with a piece of PUMPKIN PIE CARD STOCK cut at 3in by 6-7/8in.  Score on the LONG SIDE at 5/8in, 3-5/8in and 4-1/8 in.  I used a piece of the PLAID TIDINGS DSP cut at 2-1/2in by 2in for the front panel and a strip cut at 3-8in by 3in to cover the staple.  I used the pumpkins image and the leaf die cut from the GATHER TOGETHER BUNDLE as well as the sentiment.  I used an stitched oval from the STITCHED SHAPES DIES for the focal point on the front.  A cute little bow made with the BRAIDED LINEN TRIM finished off the project.  I used individually wrapped candy corn treat packs that I found at my local grocery store.  Below is a video tutorial showing how this project comes together.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you feel inspired to make some yourself.  If you have any questions about this or any other projects from my blog, please don't hesitate to email me at blreed@comcast.net.  Keep stamping.

Need something for a Baby Birthday? HIPPO HAPPINESS can help you out. Mini Gift Bag and Coordinating Card

So excited to show other projects using the HIPPO HAPPINESS BUNDLE.  For this post I made a cute little gift bag using a 6 by 6 piece of designer series paper using the paper from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS SUITE.  This bundle was designed by Robyn Cardon, a Stampin' Up demonstrator celebrating here million dollar sales milestone.  Pretty amazing.  This bundle is "SO ROBYN' with the whimsical animals and the "punny" sentiments.  Not only does she include dies to cut out all the critters, but she also has amazing and unique label dies that make this bundle so versatile.

I also created a card to coordinate with the gift bag.  The gift bag I make in the video used Purple Posy, just like the card.

To make the bag, I used two 6in by 6in pieces of paper from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS PAPER STACK.  Using the SIMPLY SCORED SCORING TOOL, I scored both pieces of paper at 1-1/2in on three sides.  The side I did not score is the top of the bag.  The video tutorial below shows how the gift bag came together as well as the coordinating card.   Enjoy.

A Unicorn Treat Box and a Thank "Ewe" Card using the HIPPO HAPPINESS BUNDLE

This week's posts feature the adorable HIPPO HAPPINESS BUNDLE from the Annual Catalog.  This stamp set is so adorable, with unicorns, sheep, hippo and butterfly images to help you make whimsical cards and 3D items for family and friends. In addition to the images, you get a great set of dies with amazing label dies in three different unique designs.  They make the bundle so versatile.  I'm sure I will be using these labels for my holiday cards.  The project today is a favorite of mine, the Unicorn Treat Box.  I also made a cute Thank "Ewe" card.

In addition to the featured bundle, I also used the bright and bold paper from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS SUITE.  The color palate went beautifully with my creations.

To make the box, I started with a piece of MAGENTA MADNESS CARD STOCK cut at 7in by 5-1/2in.  On the LONG side, I scored at 1in, 5-1/2in, 6-1/2in.  On the SHORT side, I scored at 1in, 2-1/2in, 3-1/2in,, 5in,   The DSP panel used on the front of the box measures 1-3/8in by 4-3/8in.  In the video tutorial below, you can see how the project came together;  I also shared some tips on how to get a good image when you are doing two-step stamping.

Check out my next blog post too. I'll be making two more projects with this bundle, this time featuring the happy little hippo.  Please comment and let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions about any of the creations on my blog, email me at blreed@comcast.net and I'll be glad to follow up with you.  If you are interested in any of the products shown in the videos, you can purchase them in my online store.  Click below.
